The paper examines the current status of education and training related to trenchless technology and underground utility management. Drawing from examples in North America, Europe and Asia, the paper examines what is already being done well, where the gaps are, and steps being taken to fill the gaps. The paper also provides information on the current development of educational programs for trenchless technology at Louisiana Tech University as well as providing continuing education opportunities for engineers and contractors.
