The paper presents numerical simulations of the behaviour of square columns with three-layer walls with a hyperelastic middle layer during impact. Columns were dynamically crushed between two rigid surfaces. The calculations were performed for various thicknesses of the middle layer. Energy absorption was calculated and compared for examined columns. The simulations were performed using FE system Abaqus/Explicite.
