We simulate the motion of a corrugated disk wheel over a corrugated track under unilateral viscoelastic contact forces. The trajectory of the contact point and the magnitude of normal forces are used to simulate percussive effects as a driving factor of the surface evolution. A suitable kernel function is applied in order to ensure volume preservation typical of plastic deformations. For a certain set of model parameters, a given material function and running speed first numerical results on the redistribution of material on the wheel surface are presented.
