PL

Tribologia i tribotechnika - jako dyscypliny naukowe - stały się modne i ważkie szczególnie w okresie masowej eksploatacji maszyn i mechanizmów. W oststnich dziesięcioleciach pozytywne skutki ich rozwoju doprowadziły do polepszenia właściwości skojarzonych w węzłach tarcia materiałów, stworzyły smary łagodzące procesy tarcia (a więc i zużywania) oraz udoskonalone rozwiązania konstrukcyjne i technologiczne wytwarzanych węzłów tarcia.

A review of literature enables one to find vast information, often contradictory, coming from theoretical consideration and experimental investigations, regarding the essence of wear processes in friction systems of machines. Due to a sophisticated influence of a series of factors (and their feedback) resulting from the machine operation and properties of materials on the wear process, the classification of the basic mechanisms of destructions and wear as well as wear forecasting are in many cases conventional. The author critically discusses the present knowledge of wear pointing out the newest achievements in the field of wear mechanisms description and concludes that there is a necessity for further investigation of wear processes as well as wear forecasting.
