The article presents the importance and the use of the term: technical objects maintenance. It proves that the term has more than one meaning. A proposal to adopt the following words: terotechnology, terotechnique and terology in the national terminology was given together with an attempt to define the term terotechnology. A detailed description of the principles on the example of agricultural engineering is given. Elements of an exemplar vocational profile of a terotechnologist as a specialist of service maintenance are described. A working version of the maintenance consensus is formulated.
