Trzeci i czwarty obwód stanowią analogi elektryczne modeli termicznych tranzystora i diody.

The dc-dc choppers are the base components of switched voltage regulators. For the analysis of such a class of electronic circuits the classical transient analysis or the dc analysis with the use of averaged models of such converters is applied. The average models method makes it possible to obtain the characteristics of the considered converters at steady state in less calculation time than in the transient analysis method. The literature averaged models of dc-dc converters were elaborated by neglecting the selfheating phenomenon and nonlinear characteristics of semiconductor devices. In this paper a new method of calculating the dc-dc converters characteristics with PWM control in steady state with selfheating in semiconductor devices taken into account, is proposed. This method is based on the conception of the averaged models method and it enables the calculations of the values of such dc-dc converters parameters as the output voltage and the efficiency of the converter, as well as the inner temperatures of the diode and the transistor, which are important from the point of view of the reliability of the converters. In the elaborated method, realized with the use of SPICE, the averaged electrothermal model of dc-dc converter is formulated. This model consist of three kinds of circuits. The first one constitutes the electrical network composed of the controlled voltage sources and resistors. The structure of this circuit results from the principles of formulating the averaged models of dc-dc converters. The second kind of circuits includes the series connection of the transistor and the diode described with the use of built-in SPICE models of the considered devices and the contolled voltage sources, which model the temperature influence on the voltage across the switched-on semiconductor devices. The last circuits are the electrical analogues of the thermal models of the transistor and the diode. The method formulating the considered circuits on the example of buck and boost converters is presented. The correctness of the elaborated method was verified by comparing the calculation results considered methods is obtained, which proves the correctness of the proposed method.
