The paper presents the application of the discrete optimisation of truss structures subjected to prescibed fatigue life. It was considered the solution of the linear truss or frame mechanical systems under random excitation and rainflow decomposition of the stress response in time domain and the application of Rajchers computational way for problems analysed in freguency domain. The using optimising approach was realised by the solution program OPTIM_FAT.
