Implementacja protokołu PPP w sieci ISDN umożliwia znaczne rozszerzenie zakresu usług oferowanych w sieci ISDN. Wymusza jednak konieczność identyfikacji zasad współpracy na styku ISDN - Internet wymaganych dla weryfikacji poprawności funkcjonowania terminali sieci ISDN. Zaprezentowano przegląd aktualnego stanu normalizacji w odniesieniu do europejskiej sieci ISDN, z uwzględnieniem współpracy z protokołem PPP. Artykuł zawiera wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące testowania wielofunkcyjnych terminali sieci ISDN wykorzystujących protokół PPP dla realizacji dostępu do sieci Internet.

Implementing the PPP prptocol in ISDN networks results in widening the range of services offered in these networks, but it also creates the necessity to identify principles of co-operation for the ISDN - Internet interface. These principles are in turn required for verifyng correctness of ISDN network terminals operation. The Paper presents the overviews of current state of standardising European ISDN networks taking into account their co-operation with the PPP protocol. It constains selected issues on testing multi-functional ISDN network terminals using the PPP protocol for accessing the Internet network.
