Non-Stationarity Degree Factor as a Diagnostic Parameter

The paper reviews the possibilities of using the measures related to the degree of non-stationarity in detection of early stages of defect development. We poinred out that in revolving machines it is particularly important to detect the occurence of pulse disturbances in a signal dominated by periodical components. We proved that the known measures of non-stationarity should be modified accordingly.
