The biggest infrastructural project within Pomorskie Voivodship has been commenced in Gdańsk. It concerns the integration of the regional railway with public transport within Tricity. This project is a step ahead in the process of agglomeration development. The construction of a new railway line will bring plenty of advantages. First of all, Tricity will open its doors to Kaszuby region, enabling inhabitants and tourists the journey to Kartuzy, Kościerzyna or Bytów and facilitating the journey from the far end of the Voivodship to the heart of Gdańsk or Gdynia. PMR will allow the residents of the outskirts of Tricity bypassing crowded roads and reaching their destinations quickly. Moreover, the project will cause a significant reduction in the emission of CO₂ and greenhouse gases. What is even more, PMR will act as a key partner for passenger services to Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport.
