There was undertaken the realization of two highway construction schemes important for the city of Gdansk in the first half of the preceding year – the Slowackiego road construction 10 kilometres in overall length as well as the Sucharskiego road construction 8.3 kilometres long. Some of the tasks were finished already, and a completion of all road work is planned in October 2014. The most requiring stage will be a construction of tunnel over than 1 kilometer long under the Martwa Wisla river by applying the TBM 12.5 metres in diameter and of 2.200 tons in weight. The machine transport from German factory in Schwanau will be realized both overland (with motor-trucks) and overseas (with river and sea-going barges). The first components of the TBM have already reached Gdansk. A shield tunnelling will start as probably as possible in the beginning of February of the next year after reassembly and carrying out tests.
