A 1377.5 m road tunnel will be built under the Martwa Wisła River in Gdańsk. It will be the first tunnel construction in Poland by drilling method, using a tunnel boring machine (TBM). This investment will open a high capacity road access to the Sea Harbour of Gdańsk, which will facilitate merchandise transport from dispatchers and to consignees. This project is an extreme engineering and organisational challenge. Design works are underway, while the onset of construction has been scheduled for the summer of 2011.
