Abstrakty
W artykule scharakteryzowano największe tunele na świecie oraz omówiono podstawowe metody ich budowy. Przedstawione zostały perspektywy budowy tuneli na świecie i w Polsce oraz akty prawne w zakresie postępowania w sprawie OOŚ dla tuneli. Naświetlone zostały skutki środowiskowe budowy i eksploatacji metra oraz małych tuneli drogowych.
The paper provides the characteristics of the largest tunnels in the world, as well as discusses the principal methods of tunnels construction. The prospects of constructing the tunnels in the world and in Poland have been presented, as well as the legislation with regard to proceeding with EIAs for the tunnels. The environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the subway, as well as small road tunnels, have been highlighted. An example of particularly positive impact which is the protection of Stonehenge through the insertion of the motorway into the tunnel is given in the conclusions.
