Textile blends consisting of cellulose and polyester fibres are used in many branches of life. Taking into consideration ecological aspects, the problem of utilisation of textile wastes containing polyester and cellulose fibres makes a point at research centres. Most of methods used so far, are characterised by large natural environmental hazard as result of poison gases emission to atmosphere or sewage to water. For ecological reasons new solutions are sought to reduce environmental pollution. Special attention is paid to possibility of utilising PET/cellulose wastes blends by biological method with enzymatic processes application. This environmental - friendly method was used for utilisation of PET/cellulose waste fabrics and described in previous articles [2,4]. This paper presents the possibility of repeated enzyme application after bioutilisation of waste blends for modification of celluiose pulp useful for fibres manufacture according to original, Celsol method [3] elaborated in IWCH (Lodz, Poland). The cellulose pulp V-67 (California pine cellulose) after mechanical pre-treatment was subjected to the enzyme solution (Econase) action that was used in hydrolysis of PET/ cellulose blends [1). As a result of the modification of cellulose pulp using recycled enzyme, the solubility of cellulose in aqueous sodium hydroxide increases to 99 %. From biomodified cellulose pulp, the solution of cellulose was prepared. The obtained alkaline cellulose solution was used for the manufacture of Celsol fibres (5). Cellulose fibres made from modified cellulose pulp using recycled enzymes are characterised by good tenacity (19.4 cN/tex) and elongation about 13 %. The research carried out showed the possibility of secondary use of enzymes for biomodification of cellulose pulp and proved that such a form of direct dissolved cellulose is useful for fibres manufacture according to Celsol method.
