In this paper ScoreExplorer, the Optical Music Recognition (OMR) system is described. The system performs complete recognition process starting from a scanned score image through the stages of low-level pre-processing, segmentation and pattern recognition. A comparison of the system to the commercial systems is given. Finally some ideas are proposed to improve the quality and reliability of the system.
