Optical properties of heterostructure wave guides with inprinted second order gratings thar form DBR section in a SQW GRIN SCH laser are studies. Compute calculations for a 1-D models of DBR sections with wave guides of various dimensions and rectangular grating profiles are performed in the part of the work described in this paper. The purpose was to estimate reflectivity, transmissivity and fractions of the power radiated to the air and substrate in such DBR laser sections.
