The paper presents some possibilities of modern modeling using Autodesk Inventor. Parametric modeling of assembly flange was described, using model parameters and user parameters. There is possible to define such parameters, that can be used to modify the model from Excel spreadsheets, using equations, formulas or VBA modules. Parameters allow to specify the size and shape of the elements and set the relative positions of components in assemblies. This technique reduces design time and allows to experiment with the dimensions, to make different variants of elements or of assemblies.
