In the paper the new generation of the measurement system SRT-4 equipped with a dynanometer trailer is presented. The system is designed for routine and acceptance investigation of road surface friction coefficient. It can be also used for investigation of friction characteristics of newly-designed automotive tyres. The system can be especially useful for estimation of the tyre road surface adhesion in the cases of accidents reconstruction. In order to interest automotive and judgement experts in the results of the measurements obtained using the presented system, the diversity of friction parameters of road surfaces in Warsaw urban area is presented in the paper.
