The article is a specific description regarding application of advanced boring technologies in building industry in Poland. It characterises the HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) and microtunnelling technologies, as well as limitations and hazards involved in execution of works using these methods. There is a description of reasons decisive for the selection of particular system execution method and conditions for risk scale assessment. Moreover, the author has raised the problems involved in boring technology selection, regarding diameter range, required pressures or total flow values in target pipeline possible to make using both technologies.
