W opracowaniu poddano pod rozważenie wykorzystanie metody DEA w optymalizacji procesów. Po pierwsze wykazano, iż w ramach oceny procesów można mówić o efektywności, po drugie, iż obiekt (w rozumieniu metody DEA) i proces są pojęciami równoważnymi. Dalsze rozważania obejmowały wykazanie równoważności benchmarkingu procesów w jego klasycznej postaci z benchmarkingiem dokonywanym przy wykorzystaniu metody DEA, ostatni punkt obejmował możliwość wykorzystania metody DEA do prowadzenia optymalizacji procesów, co zamykało dowodzenie. Wszystkie kroki prowadzone były zgodnie z założeniami przyjętymi dla metody DEA, jako że to wykorzystanie tej metody było przedmiotem analiz w opracowaniu.

In the study the use of the DEA method for the process optimization was under consideration. Firstly it was shown that process can be characterized by its efficiency, secondly, that the object (within the meaning of the DEA method) and the process are equivalent terms. Further considerations included demonstration of equivalence of the process benchmarking in its classic form and the DEA method based benchmarking, the last point included the possibility of using the DEA method to conduct the process optimization. All steps were carried out in accordance with the assumptions of the DEA method, because the use of this method was the subject of the study.
