EN

Neural networks have been used recently in a very wide range of practical applications. They are regarded not only as a good tool for engineers but also as a very useful tool for scientists from other fields. Some neural network's features, which will be shortly described in the article, make them a very useful tool for modelling real systems. This article presents some basic concepts on building and training multi-layer percep-tron that is very often used for building neural models. The article gives also some background on problems that can be met during a process of modelling of a real system via neural network. At the end of the article four steps that should be taken to build a neural model are presented.
