One of the consequences of information society is an increasing importance of information for contemporary enterprises and organisations. For many years informatics systems have been perceived mainly as the activities which facilitate, but which are of no significant importance for the operations (activities) of a company. Economic organisations have started to think about the ways the informatics technologies may improve their strategic competitiveness on a quickly changing market of goods and services. As never before, the new technologies based on the model client-server, enable companies (organisations) to have an easy access to the market, to enter into co-operation and to build a distribution network in such a fast way.
