Abstrakty
At the preliminary stage the crude ashes were subjected to a number of chemical and physicochemical analyses. The ashes were modified in order to alter their surface type. Attempts were made to employ unmodified and modified ashes as adsorbents in environmental protection. The ashes used in the experiments originated from CO after-burning installation in the production of mineral wool. Using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), a qualitative analysis of selected elements was performed. The morphology and uniform character of particles were studied using transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
