Abstrakty
Dependence on molar ratio of reagents the polycondensation of urea phosphate with sodium carbonate yields sodium tripolyphosphate at a temperature of 135 - 150°C and sodium metaphosphate at a temperature of about 300°C. The optimum reaction time is 90 - 120 minutes. The degree of phosphates condensation in sodium tripolyphosphate is 2.7 - 3.0 whereby the latter has a high calcium sequestering capacity.
