EN

An introduction of small amounts of promoters (Mo, W, Ba, K) into the nickel catalysts of the steam reforming of hydrocarbons reduces the detrimental effect of carbon deposit formation. Pressurized thermal treatment of the catalysts in a H2O:H2 mixture indicates that the promoting effect of the examined additions exhibits considerable stability. Ni-Mo or Ni-W catalysts can be used in the industrial processes (e.g. prereforming process).
