Abstrakty
The phenomenon of increasing market competition as well as consumers' requirements forces each enterprise to undertake a process of changes. Business Process Modelling technique plays the supportive role in that operation. Model is a deliberate and conscious simplification of the reality. Modelling aims at creation of the tool for actual, real process analysis. There are four ways a nature of business process is perceived and for each one modelling methods are assigned. Mechanistic view includes such methods as DFD, RAD, IDEF0 or IDER9000. Business process as a complex system can be modelled using discrete simulations, Object-oriented modelling or High Level Petri Nets. System Dynamics considers business process as interacting feedback loops. Process as a social structure is difficult to model using currently used methods. Model is a part of decision making process. Its analysis delivers qualitative and quantitative results. Particularly useful is System Dynamics technique which lets represent hard and soft elements of the process in the model. Knowledge gathered through model examination is very useful in reality understanding and enterprise strategy development.
