Power transformers are monitored and tested by whole row of methods in service. Today acoustic methods belong to these methods also including possibility of nonstandard application for example localization of insulating defects caused by overvoltage impulses. Sense of this brief contribution is to acquaint the persons concerned about problem of nonstandard application of ultrasonic localization methods with exemplifications of such utilization.
