In the paper the characteristics of stereolitography process as a method of prototypes procedures has been presented. The factors which influence the accuracy of models as well as the quality of the surfaces have been discussed. The results of the research which deal with model accuracy and the roughness of the surfaces on the example of complex objects have been shown.
