The data used in the study concern the maximum daily precipitation sums from 26 synoptic and pluviometric stations in the Wieprz River drainage basin and adjoining areas, for the period 1951-1998. It was found that during this period in the Wieprz drainage basin the maximum daily precipi-tation values occurred a bit rarely, whereas the lowest maximum precipitation values a little more often, than it could have resulted from its theoretical distribution in the long-term. The extreme pre-cipitation values occurred in September (the highest maximum values in the long-term), in January and June (the lowest maximum values in the long-term). The extreme precipitation values in the mentioned months occurred in many synoptic and pluviometric stations during 2, 3 years of 1991-1998.
