W artykule przedstawiono budowę i zasadę działania systemu przewietrzania skrzyni korbowej (PCV - Positive Crankcase Ventilation) na przykładzie silnika o zapłonie iskrowym. Ponadto zaprezentowano obecne i przyszłościowe wymagania normy EOBD/OBD II (European/On - Board Diagnostics II) dotyczące kontroli tych systemów. W pracy uwzględniono też normy prawne dotyczące badań systemów PCV wykonywanych w Unii Europejskiej, co pozwala na określenie miejsca i znaczenia ich w kompleksowej diagnostyce pojazdu i samego silnika spalinowego, rozpatrywanej pod katem emisji składników szkodliwych spalin. Zamieszczono też przyszłe zmiany w przepisach obowiązujacych w USA odnośnie do tych systemów. Uwagę skupiono też na metodach badań certyfikacyjnych pokładowych systemów diagnostycznych.

The paper presents issues which are connected with construction and operation of a positive crankcase ventilation system (PCV) for the spark-ignition engine. The author ofthis article has also described the present and future requirements of the EOBD/OBD II norm, which concern of control these systems. There are also legal requirements concerning of research of the PCV systems in European Union, what it helps define their place and importance in a complete diagnostic of a vehicle and an exhaust engine. This diagnostic is considered as regards toxic emission from the engine. There are future changes in the USA regulations regarding these systems in the paper as well. The author concentrated on certification research methods of the On - Board Diagnostics systems.
