Due to more frequently appearing phenomenon of hypokinesis and long lasting sitting position, resulting from adopted or imposed work style an effort was made to analyse this subject for the academic society. A research was conducted on students' activities during several types of classes: lectures, seminars, courses and work in library. The study was conducted in two stages. The goal of the first stage was recognising of the most frequently adopted sitting positions. In course of the second stage the time of hypokinesis in analysed position as well as the number and succession of repeating positions was determined using computer registration. The data obtained may give a hint to seat designers running and preparing courses and may show the direction for refrainment, nowadays, when the sitting style of life is preferred.
