Abstrakty
In this paper, it was found the power and torque characteristics of the turbocharged engine are far that of the naturally aspirated engine. The brake mean effective pressure of the turbocharged engine is also very much higher. The brake thermal efficiency of the turbocharged engine was better than the naturally aspirated engine in the rpm range 1500 to 2700 and for engine speeds in excess of 4700 rpm. As far as specific fuel consumption is concerned, the turbocharged engine had a lower consumption in the speed range 2000 - 3200 rpm and for speeds greater than 4700 rpm.
