Abstrakty
A novel co balt(II) coordination polymer [Co(bpy)2(m2-S6)]n 1 (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) has been synthesized by low-tempera ture solid-state reaction. Single crystal X-ray analyses reveal that compound 1 pos sesses a new type of two-dimensional (2-D) frame work structure. Each Co(II) ion, located on an center of distorted octahedron, is six-coordinated by four nitrogen atoms from the bpy ligands and two sulfur atoms from the mi 2-S6 ligands. The compound 1 was characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra and UV-visible spectra. The third-order non-linear optical (NLO) properties were also investigated and they exhibit good non-linear absorption and self-defocusing performance with modulus of the hyperpolarizability (gamma) 2.17×10–30 esu for 1 in a 1.7×10–4 mol×dm–3 DMF solution.
