The temperature dependencies of the polyacrylic acid (PAA) adsorption layers structure on the alumina surface were studied. The amount of polymer adsorbed and the thickness of polymer adsorption layerswere determined in the 15–45C temperature range. The obtained increase of PAA adsorption and the increase of thickness of polymer adsorption layers with the rise of temperature are caused by conformation changes of polymer macromolecules. Such behavior of the investigated systems was confirmed by the calculated parameters characterizing conformational changes of polymer chains in the bulk solution and on the solid surface. The free energy of PAA adsorption was estimated on the basis of adsorption-desorption measurements (desorption of previously adsorbed radioactive inorganic ions by polymer macromolecules). The obtained values were compared with the respective values calculated from the ksi potential data.
