Abstrakty
This paper focus on modelling and analysis of an ATM wireless access system controlled by MAC (Medium Access Control) protocols working under TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) scheme. Recall that for the purpose of wireless ATM networks a number of TDMA MAC protocols was submitted, like MEDIAN, MASCARA, SAMBA, PRMA, etc. These protocols mainly differ in assumed organisation of access scheme. In particular, they have different frame structure (constant or variable) and the slot assignment (polling, reservation or contention) policy. The paper describes a general approach for modelling arbitrary wireless ATM access protocol belonging to the considered TDMA class. This model is derived from the single PS (Portable Station) viewpoint. Fur- thermore, it assumes two-phase service of cells for up-transmission. It means that in each case a PS wants to transmit a celi to the up-direction, it has to earlier send the reservation request to the RAP (Radio Access Point). The presented approach for modelling TDMA MAC protocol assumes that allocation of slots for given PS (for sending reservation requests and for celi transmission) is described in probabilistic way. The values of these probabilities are evaluated on the basis of the protocol parameters (like frame structure, applied scheduling rules etc.) and the submitted traffic load. The analysis of the proposed model is provided under assumption that particular sources generale celi traffic load. The analysis of the proposed model is provided under assumption that particular sources generate cell traffic according to the Bernoulli process. Application of the model is verified for MEDIAN and MASCARA protocols. The included numerical results show good accuracy with simulation.
Artykuł przedstawia modelowanie i analizę protokołu, należącego do klasy TDMA MAC, dostępu do bezprzewodowej sieci ATM. Model został zredagowany z punktu widzenia pojedynczej przenośnej stacji! PS.
