This paper presents a new software environment designed as a tool for data validation and the classification of uncertain information. The environment consists of two systems: FClass and RClass. These systems use fuzzy set theory-based methods (FClass) and rough set theory-base methods (RClass) to allow handling of uncertain information. We have also proposed and implemented two hybrid classification methods (so-called fuzzy-rough and rough-fuzzy), in which we tried to combine the advantages of both fuzzy and rough methods. The FClass/RClass systems were designed as typical knowledge based systems consisting of three main parts: knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. Such architecture made it easier to implement them as object-oriented applications.

Artykuł przedstawia środowisko programowe przeznaczone do klasyfikacji danych niepwenych. System składa się z dwóch części: FClass i RClass. Część FClass wykorzystuje zbiory rozmyte, natomiast część RClass została zbudowana w oparciu o zbiory przybliżone. Proponowane podejście do problemu klasyfikacji wykorzystuje obydwie te teorie, próbując połączyć je dla uzyskania lepszych rezultatów dzięki połączeniu zalet obydwóch metod.
