This paper presents a specify of informatics as the scientific discipline which is focused on the investigations of laws that rule processes of coding, storing, transferring, and processing of information or data. Taking these laws into consideration as a common base, the comparison of methods, goals, and solutions characterizing the technical and biological systems of informatics has been derived.
