This article contains the basic requirements of evaluation of conformity procedure for components of smoke and heat control systems. They are presented in the light of Construction Product Directive (CPD). The article includes the list of all harmonized standards for components of smoke and heat control systems which have been prepared till now by Technical Committee CEN TC 191. The description of conditions under which it is possible to affix CE marking on a product is presented in this paper. There are also the conditions under which technical approvals for components of smoke and heat control systems still will be able to achieve. Finally the article defines the differences in evaluation of conformity procedure which will be brought by Construction Product Regulation (CPR) – the document replacing CPD from July 2013.
