High alumina cement - some important aspects
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
Part 1 of this two-part paper, which focuses on high alumina cements, has considered firstly the value of the ferrite phase where present in the dark grey/black (40% Al2O3) and off-white (50% AI2O3) varieties. Secondly, the roles of the grossite and hibonite phases in the WHAC refractory grades for the higher temperature requirements, namely 60% AI2O3 (in Russia and other CIS countries), 70% AI2O3and 80% AI2O3 respectively, are described. Thirdly, the problems involved in trying to make a satisfactory 90% Al2O3 cement can be ascribed to the difficulties (so far) in seeking to improve the hydraulicity of hibonite. Sulphate resistance of these cements is also discussed along with desirable limits for the various chemical entities present.
