Problem nieciągłości wyników obliczeń osiadań opartych na presjometrycznej metodyce Ménarda

Abstrakty
The choice of the appropriate formula for calculating the subsoil settlement on the grounds of pressuremeter test results depends on soil characteristics. If the subsoil is built of bearing soils the method of three-dimensional subsoil deformations is applicable. The one-dimensional deformation method is recommended when compressible soils of a limited thickness occur in foundation level. For situations when a compressible layer occurs at a certain depth below the foundation level the intermediate method is used. One might presume that comparable results are obtained near conventional usefulness limits. It has appeared, however, that the choice of computational method alone influences them remarkably. Switching in justifiable cases the formula of settlement estimation, a step growth or downfall of a computational settlement value is obtained, which should not happen. Basing on a few specific numerical examples the author suggests some corrections to the rules of applicability of particular computation method. Conventional concepts of maximum and minimum settlement are also introduced. These propositions aim at minimization of both the problem of discontinuity and the possibility of obtaining incorrect (under- or overestimated) computational settlements.
