To commemorate the 40-th foundation anniversary of the Ignacy Lukasiewicz Memorial Museum of Oil Industry in Bobrka, the origins of Polish petroleum industry were presented. The Polish petroleum industry was initiated by Ignacy Lukasiewicz (1822-1882), also known as a successful constructor of the first kerosene lamp for common use. History of the Museum formation and some exhibits from the rich collection have been described. The Editor asks the Readers for give the Museum a support by a donation of the exhibits.
