Abstrakty
The paper presents the influence of a modified supply system on current waveforms in inductive-resistive loads. Modification of a supply system dedicated for reluctance stepper and switched reluctance motor based drives was investigated. The modification influence on current values obtained during the step as well as current fall-off time after switching off the power was examined. Two configurations of the system were investigated: a system with common additional section (Fig. 8) and a system with independent supply sections (Fig. 15). Both influence the motor torque significantly. Calculations were carried out for constant-inductance, magnetically isolated circuits and a four-phase stepper motor. The current waveforms obtained from various systems for the same load and transistor keying frequency are presented. The possible significant improvement in power conditions at high-speed range is described in the paper. Application of the system shown in Fig. 8 results in the start up frequency higher by 65%. The best results were obtained for the supply system with independent supply sections. The presented results come from initial investigation of the designed system.
