Przezntowana metoda polega na porównaniu odpowiedzi mózgu wywołanych stymulacją nerwu pośrodkowego lub strzałkowego zależnie od miejsca pochodzenia bólu. Można wykorzystać potencjały wywołane mierzone na powierzchni głowy lub pole magnetyczne mierzone nad głową.

Brain evoked responses were measured in patients with pain. The evoked responses can be used as an objective method for the evaluation of pain intensity. 27 patients suffering unilateral neuropathic pain were examined.
