Początek działalności Instytutu sięga 1949 roku, kiedy to zespół złożony z inżynierów i studentów dyplomantów Katedry Gospodarki Elektrycznej Politechniki Wrocławskiej kierowanej przez prof. dr inż. Jana Kożuchowskiego rozpoczął czynnie odbudowę zniszczonej energetyki dolnośląskiej i krajowej.

Set up in 1949 by a group of engineers and graduates at Wroclaw University of Technology, the Institute of Power Systems Automation, IASE is an independent research and development organization specializing in automated control and monitoring systems for power industry. Since that time the Institute devoted its attention to restoration of Polish power industry. This work in cooperation with Polish Power Grid Company resulted in creating central control system in Polish National Dispatching Centre. Over the years IASE has created and developed an innovative automation system that meets all requirements set both by high-quality equipment applications as well as user’s expectations. MASTER system can be implemented in various configurations from small industrial facilities to large scale power plants.
