This article deals with the seismic analysis of the Stellarator Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) that is under construction in Greifswald, Germany. This device has to prove the suitability of the Stellarator concept for a future fusion power plant. Analysis was performed using finite element method with the system ANSYS. At first, the experiment was modelled in ANSYS using shell elements. The geometrical entities were imported from the CAD virtual prototype. The next step was an examination of modal characteristics. Results from the modal analysis were used for a seismic analysis with the response spectrum method. The Square Root of Sum of Squares method is used for the superposition of mode contributions. Preliminary results based on a test acceleration spectrum show already the essential seismic behaviour of W7-X.
