Po kilku katastrofach górniczych w Stanach Zjednoczonych, w których zginęli ludzie postanowiono znowelizować federalne prawo bezpieczeństwa pracy w górnictwie. W czerwcu ubiegłego roku George W. Bush podpisał akt prawny (IMPEL Act). Wprowadza on szereg nowych obowiązków dla przedsiębiorców. Artykuł przedstawia najważniejsze przepisy, których celem jest poprawa bezpieczeństwa pracy w podziemnych zakładach górniczych.

After several mining disasters in the United States of America, which cost lives of people, it was decided to amend the Federal Mining Work Safety Law. In June last year George W. Bush signed the respective legal act (the IMPEL Act). The Act introduces a number of responsibilities for the mine operators. The article presents the most important regulations aimed at improvement of work safety in the underground mining operation units.
