Rewitalizacja i modernizacja linii kolejowych to nie tylko czysto inżynierskie przedsięwzięcia związane z przebudową układów torowych, sieci infrastruktury technicznej, przebudową lub remontem istniejących obiektów mostowych, ale również zadania polegające na ochronie środowiska, w tym nałożony decyzją administracyjną obowiązek realizacji działań kompensacyjnych towarzyszących robotom budowlanym.

The author presents how exceedingly complex is the realization of tasks related to environmental compensation in the modernization and reconstruction of railway lines. The time required to carry out the procedures and obtain the appropriate administrative decisions often exceeds the duration of the investment itself. Moreover, the large number of stakeholders makes consensus extremely difficult to achieve. It depends merely on the willingness of stakeholders and concentration on the principal objective - protecting the environment.
