Abstrakty
A linear semi-empirical relation between the making temperature Tm and product F of the mean atomic weight and seismic parameter F is suggested for mineral phases with perovskite structures. Theoretical studies are based on the Sutherland-Lindemann idea of melting processes and on Debye's model of solids. In calculations, thermodynamical data of several perovskite-fluorides and -oxides were also used. It results from the above relationship that for perovskite variant of the Earth's deep interior the probable melting temperature at the mantle/core boundary is about (5085š220) ÷ (5533š235) K; the parameter F was calculated from P- and S-wave velocities at a depth of 2890 km and normalized to room temperature.
