Coraz większa globalizacja i nasilający się ruch samochodowy w dużych miastach i okręgach przemysłowych w negatywny sposób wpływają na mobilność i jakość życia mieszkańców. Powoduje to nie tylko coraz większe zatłoczenie na ulicach i wydłużające się czasy przejazdu w obrębie dużych aglomeracji, ale również coraz większe zanieczyszczenie środowiska naturalnego.

The article presents the application of the RHEDA CITY and RHEDA 2000 ballastless tracks in urban transportation systems. Due to their modular construction and the system's integrity, they are ready-to-use solution, tailored to customers' requirements, dedicated to the application in all types of urban rail transport. The use of bi-block sleepers, as well as the "top-down" rule of installation, prove that high productivity at the construction site and excellent quality of track can be achieved even in difficult urban conditions.
