Nowoczesne systemy nawigacyjne stosowane w inżynierii kolejowej stają się coraz powszechniejsze. Praktyczne ich funkcjonowanie i służenie swemu przeznaczeniu wymaga ich wyposażenia w bardzo dokładne i najbardziej aktualne informacje o istniejącym stanie infrastruktury kolejowej.

The paper describes in its essential part the application of 3D laser scanning, as well as other up-to-date contactless measuring methods, in civil engineering and, first of all, in rail transport. The technology and terminology of contactless measuring methods on the basis of Swiss Trolley (Terra Survey Trolley) and GRP FX Amberg Technologies AG systems have been presented, as well as the author's conclusions on the advantages of laser scanning application.
